Lost Province provides instruction and insight to help you grow as a potter. For those who have always wanted to learn to throw on the wheel, create hand built pieces, or improve your skills; we provide several courses for beginner and experienced artists.

25 Lb bags of wet clay are available for purchase.

Open Clay Studio Program

Potters and ceramics artists are invited to join us for our Open Studio hours! The studio is fully furnished with all the equipment needed: 8 pottery wheels, 1 slab roller, tools and tables.


Studio hours with Studio Technician Present


Monthly Studio Membership: $80/month

Monday-Friday: 10am-4pm

Suzanne Morrow

Suzanne Morrow has been hand-crafting pottery in eastern NC for over 18 years. She has recently moved to West Jefferson and hopes to help promote the arts, especially pottery, in Ashe County. She is an RN and mother of four with an AD in Arts. She has been a studio potter with Master Potter Dan Finch in Bailey NC for over 11 years. She ha

Suzanne Morrow has been hand-crafting pottery in eastern NC for over 18 years. She has recently moved to West Jefferson and hopes to help promote the arts, especially pottery, in Ashe County. She is an RN and mother of four with an AD in Arts. She has been a studio potter with Master Potter Dan Finch in Bailey NC for over 11 years. She has spent the last 4 years teaching pottery classes for Greenville Recreation and Parks Department, Jaycee Parks Center for Arts and Crafts in Greenville NC. “I love to create colorful pieces that are fun and functional for everyday use.”

Dottie Baker has made handmade pots since 1968. Her work was included in the book Electric Kiln Ceramics, and has been exhibited nationwide in invitational and juried exhibitions, as well as in galleries across the USA. In 2019, her work was included in an invitational exhibit called A Natural Influence, held at the Folk Art Center in Ash

Dottie Baker has made handmade pots since 1968. Her work was included in the book Electric Kiln Ceramics, and has been exhibited nationwide in invitational and juried exhibitions, as well as in galleries across the USA. In 2019, her work was included in an invitational exhibit called A Natural Influence, held at the Folk Art Center in Asheville, NC. Dottie is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, and is a founding member of Potters of the Blue Ridge. She holds an M.F.A. in Ceramics from the Ohio State University and taught ceramics for 24 years in colleges and universities in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and North Carolina. She retired to live and work in the High Country, and has been owner of High Meadows Pottery in Ashe County, NC since 2009. She currently teaches pottery in the Craft Enrichment Program at Appalachian State University.
