The arts tell a story of the region in a way nothing else can. With classes in blacksmithing, fiber arts, quilting, glass blowing, pottery, and woodworking, Lost Province Arts will give life to these historic crafts for a new generation.
Southern Appalachia has a diverse food shed with a rich farm-to-table tradition steeped in a long history of self-sufficiency. A fully equipped educational kitchen utilizing locally-sourced food will celebrate the culinary arts of the region.
Ola Belle Reed, one of the founders of bluegrass, was born in Lansing, NC, the Center’s home. We’ll honor her contributions and the music of Southern Appalachia with class offerings including music, storytelling and songwriting.
